Senior Platform Engineer Toronto, ON
We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer with a strong background in platform architecture and development for mobile services, a strong sense of product vision, and who is passionate about new technologies. We are seeking a creative visionary for a extensible platform that will enable stable and scalable growth.
You’ll need to:
- Have a love for mobile applications
- Have experience in developing products from ground up
- Have a strong design philosophy for modular development and extensibility
- Have a strong understand of creating an API platform and integrating with existing APIs
- Ability to deploy services using the cloud (AWS, Parse, etc)
- Have experience with unit testing/automated testing
- Prioritize user experience
- Able to quickly learn new tasks
- Ability to lead and motivate a small development team under time constraints
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Additional to your role, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing a Product Requirements Document for the flagship product
- Interfacing with bluetooth LE hardware
- Experience or knowledge of OBDII and CAN-BUS systems and vehicle telematics
- Project managing of development team that includes local and potentially offsite developers
- Work with business development team to create a product vision and roadmap
- Assist business development team in meetings as a product manager
- Develop and lead technical initiatives with third-parties (integration)
- Interfacing with bluetooth hardware
- Sending and receiving AT commands over a serial connection
